Data security on the POS
In principle, all data is stored locally in the POS system. This keeps the data on your system and nobody has access to it
-
Access to the cash register only possible via user login
-
Various user rights individually adjustable on a group basis
-
Fast communication and syncronisation via encrypted WLAN between individual devices in the network
-
Local data storage in a SQL database
-
Easy manual backup to USB stick or external media / NAS
-
Backup to the cloud possible
Data security at the cash register
To store the data safely, a reliable SQL database is used. With the SmartCafe Standard and Professional versions, the system's sandbox principle does not allow other applications to access this data.
If SmartCafe Enterprise is used, no sales data is stored on the devices - all data is stored on the SmartCafe server locally. The connection via the WLAN (WPA2 encrypted) can not be intercepted and offers a secure communication channel for the cash registers.

Database backup
In order to protect the data against loss, a regular data backup is necessary. Backup can be done manually with just a few clicks. It is important to back up the data backup to an external data medium (eg USB stick) in order to be able to restore the data in the event of a hardware defect in the cash register.
You can have the data automatically backed up to the cloud (OneDrive). The restoration is done with a few mouse clicks.
